Somewhere in the forest we took a wrong turn as our routedescription was written in French and our French only consists out of "Bonjour", "Au Revoir" and "Oui" or "Non". But we ended up on the right track again after a few hundred metres.

So don't be afraid if suddenly our GPS-track takes a turn to the left at a small crossing and the only thing you can see ahead is an impenetrable forest. Instead of following our track, just follow the path until the next crossing and turn left there. It is that simple.

The forest is absolutely beautiful and you will be all alone.



The track passes some open fields with views to small towns, a few anxious cows, and a summer cottage with small lake.

The track goes along a small water called "Canal de la petite eau". We came across this small bunker which in summertime must be difficult to spot. Also a fallen tree blocked our path but we managed to cross it. As you can see the path is still boggy but with good walkingshoes is should not be a problem.



Roxy checked frequently whether we were still around and if we took the correct path. Finally the path ends at a crossing and takes you to a wooden bridge.



On the way back you can see the small lake "Etang de la Motte" and will walk along the shore of lake "Etang de la Vieille Forge". And along that path there is also a prayer place, called "Roche de la Vierge".



At the end of the lake there is a nice picnic area with a lovely view towards the lake.



From here it is just a short distance to the car. Roxy enjoyed the walk very much, just as we did. As we were nearing a road we put her on a leash, but ofcourse this turned out not to be necessary as there was not one single car. We should have known by now.



Like stated before, a pleasant stroll for us and the dog.

Just enjoy the tranquility, listen to all the birdsongs and also watch out for deer, wild boar and other animals



We watched this ladybird while enjoying our lunch at a picnic area which was hidden in the forest.



The forest here in this part is huge and if you watch carefully you will encounter wildlife frequently. Unfortunately all this wildlife is too quick to be captured on a photo, but we did see some deers and a wild board.



We reach Signy-le-Petit but are feeling rather tired. We opt to take the quickest route back to our B&B. For those still feeling fit you could opt to go through this small village and then cross some fields and forest back to the B&B. We however took the easiest route: via a road (again: not many cars here) and then back through the Chemin de Signy (Forest of Signy)



A lovely walk and, besides a few people in the villages, we have not encountered any other persons. Just the way we like it. And .......maybe you have noticed but Elgar is not on any of the pictures. He decided to not to go with us on this holiday as he said his French was terrible. What a wimp !
